Livestock Sale

Hello Sponsors and welcome to 2023 Boulder County Fair Jr. Livestock Sale!
We thank you for the generous support you have given us in past years, and we hope to continue this great relationship. We also want to extend a “welcome” to our new sponsors! Your interest and investment in supporting Boulder County 4-H and FFA youth yields future benefits in the education of livestock production, finance, and broadens their individual growth such as: accountability, public speaking, competition, team building, and life-long friendships.

We are having an in-person sale! Sponsorship add-ons can be completed on-line (scroll down to "Youth Add-on" section) and in person.

Get details on this year’s sale and buying process by contacting jrlivestocksale.bcf@gmail.com. A Sale Committee member will contact you promptly. The Boulder County Jr Livestock Sale is a 501c3 non-profit organization managed by community volunteers. Please consult your tax advisor for details.

The Boulder County Fair Jr. Livestock Sale Committee is proud to offer scholarship opportunities to 4-H and FFA exhibitors who have participated in the Jr. Livestock Sale for a minimum of 3 years. Applicants may apply for a general scholarship award or provide an additional essay to apply for the Jerry Hergenreder Memorial Scholarship.

Youth Add On

2022 Add-On Sponsorship is now open and will close on Friday, August 19, 2022.
An “add-on” is a pledge of support to offset the cost of the project for the exhibitor participating in the livestock program. This fixed dollar amount can help support the exhibitor with on their current project, be used for their future project, education, or to recognize and reward the exhibitor on an excellent job.

Livestock Sale Payment or Donation

Livestock Sale - Exhibitor Information

Read through the rules, take notice of dates deadlines (add to home calendar), and action item requirements.

Sale Intent

This google form is required for all exhibitors wishing to participate in the 2022 Livestock Sale. The deadline for the Sale of Intent is based on each Department/Superintendent. Review the premium page for your department or contact your Superintendent if there are any questions.

Sale Pictures and Thank You Letters

  • Sale pictures will be coordinated through the Department/Superintendent.
  • Thank You letters - 10 working days post sale an email will be sent to your Parent/Guardian email address.
  • This email will be a listing of all buyers and add-on sponsors: names, business (if applicable), address. Exhibitor is to deliver all buyer and Add-On "thank you" notes to the Boulder County Extension Office in pre-addressed and stamped envelopes by the 2nd Friday in September.

Wholesome Meat Form

This form will be given to you by each Department Superintendent at the time of weigh-in. This form is required for ALL market projects.

2023 Livestock Sale Scholarship

The Boulder County Fair Jr. Livestock Sale Committee is proud to offer scholarship opportunities to 4-H and FFA exhibitors who have participated in the Jr. Livestock Sale for a minimum of 3 years. Applicants may apply for a general scholarship award, or provide an additional essay to apply for the Jerry Hergenreder Memorial Scholarship. Applications are due May 1, 2023. See application form for scholarship requirements and instruction on how to apply.

2022 Recipients

Connor Wagner

Jerry Hergenreder Memorial Scholarship 
Connor is a 2022 graduate from Silver Creek High School and has participated in Varsity Swim and Dive for 4 years and has been to state finals all 4 years. Connor was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society this year. Connor has been a member of the Boulder County 4-H for 9 years and a member of FFA for the past 4 years. He has competed in dog, horse, chicken, and market goat projects. Working with market goats is Connor’s favorite. Connor stated, “he has learned great qualities in my years with 4-H and FFA”. He is currently working as a farm hand with a prominent market goat breeder and his future is to go into the agricultural field. After graduating from college, Connor plans to continue his work in farming. Connors also plans to join the military to help serve our country. He will start junior college at Aims Community College and move to the University of Wyoming while serving in the Wyoming Air National Guard.

Jr. Livestock Sale Scholarship 
Kira is grateful for the Boulder County Fair Junior Livestock Sale Committee’s Scholarship award, and she plans to apply it towards her Nursing degree at Colorado Christian University this fall. Kira has competed in 4-H for 11 years. She has sold beef, hogs, chickens, goats, and sheep at the auction. As well as 4-H, Kira played basketball and volleyball. In addition to her high school education, Kira completed classes this year as both a Certified Nursing Assistant and Childbirth Educator to grow her nursing skills. Kira wants to thank her parents, siblings, and friends for supporting and loving her through her many endeavors. She thanks God for all He has blessed her with and His guidance through it all.
The Boulder County Fair Jr. Livestock Sale Committee is a non-profit organization. The Livestock Sale Committee is proud to offer scholarship opportunities to 4-H and FFA exhibitors who have participated in the Jr. Livestock Sale for a minimum of 3 years, a high school senior or full-time student at a Jr College or University and have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA. Applicants may apply for a general scholarship award or provide an additional essay to apply for the Jerry Hergenreder Memorial Scholarship.
